Yes. Faded, chalky Colorbond and metal roofs can absolutely be resprayed. The key is preparation: cleaning off the degraded layer, treating any rust, and priming with a primer made for metal so the new coating bonds. Done correctly a resprayed Colorbond roof restores the colour and re-protects the steel for years.
Almost always because the metal wasn't primed correctly, or the chalky surface layer wasn't cleaned off first. Metal needs a specific primer for the topcoat to bond; painting straight onto a faded, unprepared metal roof is what causes peeling.
